Rainy Rain Go Away…

it has been raining since sunday!! i think it's finally about to clear up and get sunny again- thank goodness! but i've been able to catch up on some orders and get some more stuff done! nothing new, but thought i'd post them so you all can see!

more cuddly taggie blankets:

soft and cuddly burp cloths (i'm not sure what the name of this material is. it's the same that i make the cuddly taggie blankets with. i think i've seen it posted as minky, but i still don't know if thats the proper term for that type of fabric!)

and another applique t-shirt with the lollipop trees...my other sister was feeling left out so i had to make her one too!

Diaper Bag

my sister-in-law is about to have her second baby, so i was excited that i could make her some baby goodies! when my sister was pregnant she was very particular about what she'd be carrying as a diaper bag, so making something for her was out of the question! i decided to make my sister-in-law a diaper bag and found a Butterick pattern that looked simple enough. i was lucky enough to get the pattern for super cheap at around $2 at Jo-ann's! i chose this blue and green polka dot combo as my print because i figured it would be boyish enough to carry but not too boy-ish that she could use it anytime if she needed. i was really impressed with how well it turned out, especially since this was one of my bigger projects that i was giving away! i filled the inside with some decorated burp cloths as well as a cuddly taggie blanket and some other goodies. i also decided to make a luggage tag with the baby's name on it (hopefully they didn't change his name at the last minute- but luckily it is replaceable if they did!)  i'm planning on making a few more of these bags and filling it up with goodies because i think it will be the perfect baby shower gift!

Cuddly Taggie Blanket

back when i worked in childcare those taggie blankets seemed to be all the rage with the parents. i thought the blankets themselves were a little pricey for just a piece of fabric with some ribbon tags, but kids do love them. really, they just like sticking anything they can into their mouths! better it be something clean right?! :)

when my niece was born i decided to make her one. they're really easy and the possibilities are endless! i've even made one for my sister-in-law who is due in a few weeks!

when i was little i had a baby blanket that i was super attached to...and yes- i still have it! my sister also had one that basically turned gray because she used it so long! she's hoping that her daughter will have some kind of security blanket that she'll be attached to, and maybe this cuddly taggie will be it!
