Personalized Baby Shower Gifts
i think i've just recently handed out my last baby shower gift! (my husband and i knew 9 pregnant couples at one point, so i'm relieved to be done with all that!)
i thought this little iron-on was really cute for a onesie and decided to pair it with a coordinating burp cloth.
the gift also included a Birdie Sling, sensory blanket, a minky and flannel blanket, and a 2 pack of chenille and flannel burp cloths.
Enchanted Forest Burp Cloth Set
i've just added another set of fabric decorated burp cloths to the shop! i love the fabric on these! one print is of forest animals, and the other print has some whimsicial looking trees on them! these are a bit different from my usual burp cloths set because the sets come with two white cloths as well as two colored cloths!
New baby gift sets in my shop!
just added some cute new gift sets in my shop!
this retro owl print is one of my favorites!
and of course, more pink skulls!
and finally some stuff for boys! (i never really have any boys to make stuff for, so coming up with ideas is never easy!)
Rainy Rain Go Away…
it has been raining since sunday!! i think it's finally about to clear up and get sunny again- thank goodness! but i've been able to catch up on some orders and get some more stuff done! nothing new, but thought i'd post them so you all can see!
more cuddly taggie blankets:
soft and cuddly burp cloths (i'm not sure what the name of this material is. it's the same that i make the cuddly taggie blankets with. i think i've seen it posted as minky, but i still don't know if thats the proper term for that type of fabric!)
and another applique t-shirt with the lollipop trees...my other sister was feeling left out so i had to make her one too!
Terry Cloth Burp Cloths
since my niece has a slight case of reflux we go through quite a bit of burp cloths. luckily she isn't one of those babies that has severe reflux where it's like projectile vomiting when it comes out! hers are generally just little wet burps! when i was working in the baby room at my center, i had several kids that when feeding them we'd literally have to cover both of us up in blankets and somehow everything would get drenched!! and of course we'd just pray that it was a formula bottle rather than a breast milk bottle!!
i'm still experimenting with burp cloths and decided to make other ones aside from the chenille lined ones. the newest ones i made are more rectangular shaped and skinnier with terry cloth lining. making these burp cloths turns out to cost as much as a pack of those plain white burp cloths they sell at the store, but these are much cuter!!
Fabric Decorated Burp Cloths
it's spring break for the kiddies this week so i won't be getting as many projects finished as i wanted to! i signed up to watch my nephews for a few days to give my sister a break, plus the fact they love coming over here to play with my hubby! no wii this time, but surprisingly we've kept ourselves entertained! my other sister ran out with her husband for an appointment, so i'm actually watching her baby (1month old) and my nephews (6 and almost 3) today. everyone thought it would be a mad house but surprisingly, all is quiet!!! the baby is sound asleep and the boys are playing (nicely!) together! i've actually got a few minutes to blog!
everyone i know seems to be having babies! i've been trying to put together baby baskets of all the essentials and the one thing i really like making is the burp cloths! its super easy to make and buying quarter squares is enough to make three different panels, so it's really fun to use all sorts of different designs. when my sister was pregnant i ended up making burp pads that had her baby's name on them in addition to different designs, but everyone i know that's having a baby now haven't come up with names yet, or i'm not sure about the sex of the baby, so i figured the panel cloths would be my best bet. adding the fabric panels in the middle of the burp cloths make them so much more fun than having plain old white cloths!
Crazy Crazy!
well...things have been super crazy on my part! my sister had her baby...a little earlier than we could've expected! she went in for her gel procedure on thursday, and was supposed to be induced on friday. well, after i dropped her off at work on thursday for her to get a few things settled, i was called about two hours later to come get her. good thing i got there when i did! we got to the hospital within fifteen minutes and she was already fully dialated!!! as soon as she got into the delivery room, her water burst (thank god it wasn't in my car!!) and she delivered her baby in ten minutes!! so, i'm now the very proud aunt of a beautiful baby girl!!! i can't get enough of her!!!
here is a picture of the personalized burp pads that i made a while back. i couldn't post these sooner because she and her husband were keeping the name a secret, so i had to wait till she delivered before i could post the pics! the burp cloths so far my favorite items to make!
