Some new children’s sets in the shop!

since all the baby showers are starting back up again, i decided to add some more sets to the shop!

this first one is my favorite! as soon as i saw this monster flannel print, i knew i had to get it! (i love the whole Ugly Doll theme, so this was perfect!)

since some people like to have items shipped directly to the recipient, i decided to make one set that was packaged and ready to open as a gift! everything comes tucked inside a metal paint tin that's been decorated with some coordinating scrapbook paper (and sealed with mod podged). this set includes one baby blanket, a bib and burp cloth, and also an appliqued onesie!

this next set is a smaller feeding set made with Alexander Henry's Juicy fabric. it includes one burp cloth and two bibs.

and since i decided to clean my studio up, i found some earlier children's gifts that never made it to the shop! these are now in the clearance section!

this owl play mat is really cute, and a lot larger than i had planned to make it! it makes a great outdoor mat too!
and who can resist a cute little monkey blanket?

Baby Sling

i had an order about a month ago for a baby sling that i was kind of excited to work on! i know about 5 people right now who are expecting babies so i thought this was a great new project for me to take on because it was something i could add to their gift baskets!

i ordered enough of the fabric that i ended up making a sling for myself too because the size that was ordered was much larger than what i'd use, and i like to be able to test a product out for myself before i send it off! unfortunately, i didn't have a baby small enough to put in the sling (my niece is now almost 10 months old and was not cooperating when i tried gettin her in that thing!) i reinforced the sling in several areas and also double edge stitched the finished product so i think it looks a bit nicer with the clean looking hemlines.

Personalized Baby Gifts

the other day i received an email from an old co-worker- imagine my surprise when she included pictures of her and her 4month old! the last time i spoke with her, she had mentioned she and her husband were trying to have kids, so i didn't even know she had finally gotten pregnant!! i instantly got to work and made her some baby gifts to send off!

her set included

a personalized fabric decorated burp cloth and matching chenille bib

and a personalized sensory blanket! (unfortunately, i thought the pink would look good on the blanket, but i probably would have been better off using white thread!)

Crayon Tote Bag

after i made the one for my friends daughter a while back i had a few more requests for these. these are now available in the shop!

this first one is made of posh by Moda. a polka dot pink and white fabric accents the front as the crayon/marker/pencil holder. the lining is in an eggshell color and there is also a small pocket inside!

the second is a screen print (it's from the stratosphere collection, but if there's a name other than that, i can't remember what it is!) and has a black and white gingham lining!

these are great gifts for little kids who love carrying stuff around! they are large enough to carry more than just books and are perfect for parents on the run who need to keep their children occupied!

also, p.s. just wanted to let ya'll know there are a few select items on sale in the shop! trying to make more room for the holidays! :)

Purse Party Recap

so this weekend i had my very first open house and was pleased with with the outcome. i had about 20 people and i wish wish wish i remembered to take pictures!!! :( i had my camera out and even went to go grab it when i got sidetracked and was too busy yapping away with all my girlfriends, that i never once turned my camera on!! i even made some super yummy sangrias and of course didn't even get pictures of that so i could share the recipes! (hopefully at a later date!)

i had a lot of purses and baby gifts on hand and i think i had TOO MANY choices for people because noone could make up their minds about what to get! i guess better too much than not enough though! sooo...hopefully i'll open up my etsy shop this week with some leftover goodies from the open house!!

just wanted to say THANK YOU for all that attended! i'm so grateful to have such amazing friends who have passed my name on when they get complimented on their bags and for bringing me more business! without you guys there would be no Crafty Natalie!! you ladies are the BEST!!! :)
