for this round, i joined Team We'll eat anything! there was a slight change in plans last minute. the original soldier's address was misplaced, so the soldier we were sending cookies to was actually another single father! Eddie, who is 28, has been stationed in Iraq since August. He has a son and daughter...gosh, i could only imagine, being a single parent, and away from your kids for this long!

i filled his box up with double chocolate chunk cookies, as well as some rice crispy treats (both plain, and a few sprinkled with m&m's), as well as a bag of jolly ranchers, and also a few ESPN magazines! i hope he and his fellow soldiers enjoy!

Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/4 cup chocolate chunks
directions
- preheat oven to 350 degrees
- combine all ingredients and mix until creamy
- drop by spoonful onto baking sheet
- bake for about 10 minutes (9-11 min). allow to cool for a bit on baking sheets before moving them to wire racks
