Strawberry Sangria

August 29th, 2008 by natalie

can you believe summer is almost over?! i hope everyone enjoys their nice long weekend (minus the rain!)

here’s a yummy sangria recipe that i’ve tried that i can’t seem to get enough of! i first made it at my purse party last month and now i’m trying to find any excuse to be able to make it whenever i can! (unfortunately i forgot to photograph it at the purse party, and the sangria pictured is somewhat paler because this was from me trying to satisfy a craving with dinner and it’s mixed with a white wine rather than a rose wine, i also garnished it with raspberries as well as strawberries…no complaints though!)

Strawberry Sangria:

  • 1 bottle rose wine (i used a zinfandel)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup strawberry lemonade (i’ve also made it with raspberry lemonade, and either way tastes great!)
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup club soda (if you wanted, you can substitute it with lemon lime soda, but i haven’t tried it with that yet, so i don’t know if it changes the taste too much)
  • pour ingredients into a pitcher and gently stir. add ice just before serving

Ooh, that sounds yummy. Our neighbor had a grad party and they had a gigantic glass jar filled with sangria, then they had a margarita machine that when you wanted a margarita they would scoop the wine soaked fruit from the sangria and blend it in. They were the best margaritas ever!
