my sister asked me if i could redo her highchair cover as my niece is about to start eating solids! (she’s just turning 6 months- i swear, where has the time gone?!!!) instead of the boring ol’ Eddie Bauer cover that they have, my sister went to the local quilt shop i’m always raving about and chose some fun Moda prints (posh and flutterby). i’m always scared making stuff for people when no pattern is involved, mainly because once you cut it it’s done! so if i mess up, there’s no going back! BUT, the finished cover is SUPER cute! and i totally love it! to seperate the two fabric pieces i added some yellow piping which i think really brings out all the fun colors. the backside is also the same pale yellow, and the ties that attach the cover to the highchair are in the flutterby print.
so here’s the before:
and the after:
i thought i’d also show you what my sister and her husband did to one of their rooms! it was funny when my sister was pregnant because she kept saying that once her daughter was older, there would be no clutter and she dreaded buying all the plastic, bulky toys and having them lay all around the house! well…it’s come to the point where my niece needs said toys and they decided to turn one of their main rooms into her playroom! my sister and her husband fell in love with Anna Maria Horner’s sketchbook fabric as well and decided to redo some of their chairs in that fabric. each of the colors in the fabric is something that they already have in the rooms themselves, so it coordinated perfectly! (i think between my sister, myself, and my little cousin, we basically bought the bolt of this fabric at the quilt shop!)
my brother-in-law also made a storage bench for my niece so that they can store her toys in there.
i guess craftiness runs in the family!
