Crayon Tote Bag
one of my friend's daughters just celebrated her 2nd birthday so i wanted to make her something special, rather than getting her a pretty dress or Dora the Explorer toy! i decided to make her one of these crayon totes. at first i thought about making just a crayon roll and a small purse, and figured i'd combine the two instead! my friend is the hairdresser i'm always talking about, and since she works out of her home, her daughter sometimes goes with her to her clients house. this tote is perfect because she can put little activities and such in it and travel with her mom! i had some leftover patchwork and polka dot fabric so i thought it'd be perfect for her since my friend sort of has the whole shabby chic taste!

No I didn’t use a pattern for this! I just cut the pieces to which size I thought would work for a kid’s bag and made it from there…if you know how to make a simple tote, it’s pretty easy because you just need to add a crayon pocket on the front.
The crayon tote you commented on was the first one I ever made. Here’s the link to the more recent ones that I think turned out MUCH better!
