Amy Butler Kimberly Bag
yesterday was my little cousins birthday. she hates that i still call her my little cousin, because she’s not so little anymore! in fact, she’s just turned 21! and she’s a heck of a lot taller than i am! a few months back i had made her a portfolio in the same green paisley print and decided to make her a matching purse as well. i remember in my college days i always carried smaller bags (funny how as you get older your purses get bigger!) so this Kimberly bag is perfect! it’s small enough that you’re not carrying some huge bulky purse when you’re out on the town, but roomy enough that it fits a ton of stuff!
the pink print purse was supposed to be for myself. i must have been distracted while making it because i completely forgot to put in the fusible interfacing! remembered everything else, how i forgot that is beyond me! so it’s a lot softer than it’s supposed to be! since i’m such a perfectionist, i couldn’t stand the fact that i knew i had forgotten something and was going to pitch the purse altogether! but i couldn’t bring myself to just throw it out and i ended up giving it to my little cousin for her birthday as well! i knew she wouldn’t mind, and i DID tell her what was missing from it , and she barely noticed the difference! so, alas…i still have no Kimberly bag for myself!
