Chinese Donuts

i haven’t eaten at a chinese buffet in a LONG time, but sometimes really bad chinese food just sounds soooo yummy!! when i worked at the preschool, there was a local chinese buffet that you could get take out for lunch, so me and one of my other co-workers would sometimes frequent there…we inevitably always got through the day by talking about food. i know, sounds weird, but it really makes the time fly by! she used to love the chinese donuts. my sister loves these too! i was really craving donuts the other day and decided to do a search to see if it was something i could make, and lo and behold i found the easiest recipe imaginable!!!

the only ingredients you need is a can of refrigerated biscuits and about 1/3 cup of sugar, and of course oil to fry them in!

after taking the biscuits out of the container, i rolled them into balls (i just split each biscuit in half, so this recipe makes about 20 donut holes)

fry a few donuts at a time. i had the oil hot, but not burning hot, because with my first batch the outside was a nice golden color, but the insides were still doughy. so it’s nice to just let them simmer in the oil for a bit, rather than turning the heat up and scorching the outside because the inside prob won’t cook in that short time.

let the donuts drain on a paper towel, then roll them in some sugar when they have cooled a bit
