we are back from myrtle! the drive was only 7 hours (that was GREAT time considering it was memorial weekend) and the pup did AMAZING in the car!! i was so excited to see my friend, leah, again and was bummed when the trip came to an end! leah has two dogs so our puppy had tons of fun! he was a completely different dog and now i have even higher standards for him because i’ve seen it with my own two eyes how good he can be! so why he has to be a poop-head at home sometimes is beyond me!

we kind of picked a bad weekend to go since it was a holiday, and myrtle beach during memorial weekend is quite interesting! for about two weeks it’s Bike week. last week was Harley week, and memorial weekend is Black Bike week. two very different bike weeks from what i hear! i’m assuming Harley week is just a bunch of old guys on their Harleys…Black Bike week is a younger crowd. generally there are over 300,000 thousand sport bikers coming into Myrtle Beach for this event! you can only imagine how insane that is and how much traffic that creates, not only on the strip but the highways coming in and out of town! we were lucky to miss all that chaos! what’s even more chaotic is how the bikers ride down the streets! i don’t know about you, but seeing a bike going at 100+ mph doing a wheely…it’s a little frightening. especially when it has just rained!! it’s also a little scary seeing some of the bikers wearing leather vests that are bulletproof! (why does anyone who isn’t a cop need a bulletproof vest?!) my friend said that some businesses will go “under construction” or have “routine maintenance” during this week because of events that have occurred in past years.
