talk about good mood! have you ever kept anything in your closet just *hoping* that you’ll be able to fit into it again? well, really, wondering how you stopped fitting into it in the first place and then tried and tried to fit into it and then just tucked it away, catching a glimpse of it every now and then. not even bother to try it on because you know you sure as heck can’t fit it but of course won’t bring yourself to give it away because it was just too darn cute?

well i have a couple outfits like that….mostly dresses that i spent too much on or had only worn once and never had a chance to wear again. there’s one dress i got about a year ago that i loooove! it’s from Ann Taylor and i got such a great deal on it, and was so surprised because it was the last of its size and it was even in petite! when i saw it i knew i had to have it. even when i first bought it i was surprised it fit because it was a size zero! but surprisingly it fit beautifully…for about a day. i tried it on again over the summer and it wouldn’t even zip up all the way. (funny how buying a house, moving in with a guy after dating for several years, then getting married will add ten pounds!) so of course i was crushed but i held on to it because i couldn’t bear to just toss it!

we’ve got our first wedding of the year to go to this weekend down in VA Beach (it’s the first of three weddings we’ll attend this year alone! it would’ve been four had we been able to make a destination wedding in Cancun later next month)…but in any event i really didn’t want to have to buy another dress (although ANY excuse to go shopping would be great, i just couldn’t justify buying anymore dresses, seeing as i’m already taking up space in my husbands side of the closet!) i had one dress that i was planning on wearing for the rehearsal dinner but longed to wear this other dress…and wouldn’t you know, i tried it on this morning and IT FIT!!! zipped up without any problems! i wanted to do cartwheels around the room!
