Bow-tie Pasta with Ham & Asparagus

February 26th, 2008 by natalie

i got this recipe from a pillsbury magazine. since i bought the magazine a few weeks ago, i’ve already made it a few times! it’s one of our favorite quick and easy dishes! i changed it somewhat by using a sun-dried tomato alfredo sauce (the original recipe called for regular alfredo sauce and a half cup of sun-dried tomatoes in oil and herbs…figured it wouldn’t make much difference and saved me the hassle of buying more ingredients! the original recipe also called for only 1 cup of asparagus, but i love my veggies, so i doubled it!)

3 cups farfalle pasta (uncooked)

1 jar (16 oz) sun-dried tomato Alfredo sauce

2 cups asparagus cut into 1 inch pieces

1 cup diced cooked ham

1 cup shredded Havarti cheese

preheat oven to 350 degrees. cook pasta according to directions on package.

in a 3qt pot, heat the Alfredo sauce over medium heat, add in the cooked pasta, ham, and asparagus. stir in half of the shredded havarti cheese. pour into 2qt casserole dish.

cover and bake for about 40 min, top with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese, and serve.
