Fabric trimmed washcloths
because of all the ice yesterday i actually stayed home and got a lot accomplished! i’ve almost finished the amy butler portfolio, and i’ve also figured out what to do with this towel that i had originally embroidered for my friend, only to realize that i embroidered the wrong company name on it when i was about to give it to her! i decided to cut the white towel up into smaller squares (10×10) and decorate the trims with fabric and ribbon scraps that i had leftover from other projects. when i first was decorating with the ribbon i thought it would be easier to cut the ribbon into strips for each side, but when it came time to folding the sides down it would fray at the edges a little bit and my husband suggested instead if cutting each piece to the length of the side, just do one long, continuous piece and fold over the corners that way. he’s so smart. the second one i did turned out MUCH better! i only made two washcloths to start out with, but i still have lots of pieces of the towel leftover, and i’m thinking of turning some of those pieces of the towel into the backings of some bibs! i’m keeping myself busy making all sorts of fun stuff to add to my niece’s collection!
